Letter from the Library

With school back in full swing, it’s time to talk about what the library has going on this spring! In February, look forward to our Cookies Amore Valentine’s cookie decorating and a visit from the Ditch Water Discovery Center for a STEM dayWe’ll be decorating cookies from 5-7pm on February 12, just in time to give them as gifts on Valentine’s dayPlease RSVP at this link or call us at 325-356-2122 to reserve your spot at cookie decorating! STEM day will be on February 23 at 10am, more details to come about what the activity will be.

While you're adding this to your calendar, don’t forget our 5th Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 25. We’re already in full swing of planning, but if you know an organization that should be at Earth Day let us know! One of the best partners we work with for Earth Day is Neighborhood Forest, which is an organization that gives free trees to childrenIf your family would like to receive free treesplease sign up here before March 15. The trees will arrive in late April to the library and we will contact you when they’re ready to pick up!

Finally, in honor of America’s 250 birthday, the Texas State Library and Archives Association (TSLAC) has organized a reading challenge! If you document reading 2,500 minutes in 2026, you may receive a free certificate signed by Governor Greg Abbott. Our library has already signed up for this program and we are looking forward to being able to reward all of our great readers! That’s enough for now, but stay tuned for more information. See you at Storytime on Wednesday!
